Sonus Networks’ Connexions2011 Annual Leadership Conference to
Highlight Next-Generation Communications Technology

Event Will Gather Sonus Community From Around the Globe for a Users Meeting and to Share Best Practices and Discuss the Future of the Communications Industry

WESTFORD, Mass., September 20, 2011 – Sonus Networks, Inc.  (NASDAQ:SONS, news, filings), a market leader in next-generation IP-based network solutions, will host industry leaders, luminaries and executives from around the globe at the company’s Connexions2011  event, which is taking place from October 17-20, 2011, at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, Florida. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in both a two-day user’s meeting for technical deep-dive discussions, as well as a leadership conference.  Both events will feature well-known keynote speakers, analyst roundtables, interactive panels, and demonstrations that will showcase the latest technologies currently shaping the communications industry.

This year, Connexions2011 will begin with a technical users meeting, to be held October 17-18, which will gather experts from Sonus, customers and partners for a series of technology-based, deep-dive discussions. Specifically, participants will explore the methods and ROI around the planning and operation of, as well as value-generating upgrades to, next-generation VoIP and Session Border Control solutions from both Sonus and its partners.

The user’s meeting keynote will be given by Barry West, a veteran of the wireless and telecom industry. Mr. West was formerly CTO at Sprint Nextel and president of the company’s Xohm business unit. He will offer insights into the future evolution of the telecom and wireless markets, based on his years of experience in key positions within the industry.

From October 19-20, attendees from top-tier service providers, cable and mobile operators, will learn from industry experts as they discuss and shape the progress of VoIP, Session Border Control and Intelligent Session Management of IP Networks. In addition, attendees will see cutting-edge product demonstrations and previews of technology innovations showcased by Sonus and its partners.

The keynote speaker for the leadership conference will be William Taylor, best-selling author and co-founder of award-winning Fast Company magazine. In Mr. Taylor’s keynote address titled “Practically Radical: Transforming Your Company and Challenging Yourself,” he will use a collection of lessons learned and case studies across multiple industries to explain how attendees can “shake up your industry, transform your company and recharge yourself.”

Additional notable speakers include Henning Schulzrinne, co-inventor of SIP, Dean Bubley, a notable mobile industry thought leader, and senior executives from major international service providers such as Tata Communications, TW Telecom, and SFR.   Industry analysts from major research firms such as Infonetics, Heavy Reading, and Current Analysis will offer insight into emerging communication trends, and participate in various thought leading discussions with the attendees.

“Based on the enormous success of last year’s Connexions event, we are pleased to be able to expand this year’s program to four days,” said Todd Abbott, senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing at Sonus Networks. “Our attendees will engage in deep technical discussions surrounding our technology, as well as learn from industry experts about how communications technology can help meet tomorrow’s business challenges.”

Registration for Connexions2011  is open to Sonus Networks’ customers, prospective customers and partners.
