Jesuit Institutions Improve Communications with Global Crossing IP Services

Expand contract and connect 15 units of Associação Nóbrega de Educação e Assistência Social (ANEAS)

Sao Paulo, Brazil – Global Crossing (NASDAQ: GLBC), a leading global IP and Ethernet solutions provider, today announced the expansion of its agreement with Associação Nóbrega de Educação e Assistência Social (ANEAS) to provide Internet Protocol (IP) services.  The Association, which since 2009 has been using Global Crossing’s data center and data transmission services, now will use IP VPN (Virtual Private Network) services to connect its eight units in Sao Paulo, three in Rio de Janeiro, three in Minas Gerais and one in Brasilia.

The institutions will use the IP network to transmit videoconferencing sessions, generating savings in travel costs and facilitating a more constant exchange of information across all Jesuit units.

“The implementation of Global Crossing’s IP network has revolutionized the way we communicate and accomplished the network integration we needed,” said Paul Vincent Morégola, chief technology officer at ANEAS.  “With the new services, ANEAS will have fast and secure access to its database, with high-speed Internet available to all of our units.”

“We did a complete consultancy project for ANEAS, which allowed us to understand the requirements of each of its units, and then offered appropriate services to meet the needs of this customer,” said Marcos Malfatti, senior vice president of Sales for Global Crossing in Brazil.  “This agreement is a good example of how we work for our customers.  We always seek an accurate diagnosis and then design a solution that best meets the customer’s business needs. That is why today we have a strong and growing presence in the Brazilian corporate market.”

Services in Global Crossing’s IP Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) global network are versatile network solutions that offer true global reach, scalable connectivity, greater security, guaranteed quality of service, multiple access options and flexible billing options.
The service delivers appropriate levels of latency, jitter and packet loss to ensure the handling of multiple types of traffic, especially voice and video.  Global Crossing’s services are backed by comprehensive Service Level Agreements (SLAs), covering the performance of the service as a whole, and online access to historical and real-time performance reports.
