MegaPath Announces Tech Talk Online Video Competition Early Entry Winner

Awards $2,000 with Additional $28K in Prize Money Still Up for Grabs

SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 3, 2011MegaPath Inc., one of the leading providers of managed data, voice, and security services in North America, awarded a $2,000 prize to Kyle Bloom of Kansas City for his MegaPath Tech Talk Online Video Competition entry “I’m IT.” In this 60-second video for the online contest, Bloom raps his way into the hearts of tech geeks with lyrics like “The name’s Malware, my tech skills are malicious.”

A tech dictionary called the IT Jargon Dictionary has been published on the online contest website for use by Tech Talk video producers and the non-technical public.

The Tech Talk Online Video Competition launched in conjunction with Zooppa, the world’s leading source of user-generated advertising, giving amateur videographers and IT professionals an opportunity to implement the use of complex tech terms into 60-second videos. Even with the Early Entry prize awarded to Bloom, there is still $28,000 in cash prizes to be awarded, including:

  • $10,000 grand prize for the best online video
  • $4,000 second place
  • $3,000 third place
  • Cash prizes for 4th through 12th place finishers
  • Social Share sweepstakes awards for three visitors who ‘share’ entries with their social networks.

MegaPath is accepting video contest submissions until Friday, August 12, 2011 and winners will be announced the week of August 28, 2011.

“We’re thrilled about the quality of the entries for our online video competition submitted to date. For today’s high-tech professional, a unique language of tech terms exists, so even for the non-technical person, they can enjoy the videos and use our tech dictionary to follow along.”
