SUNNYVALE, Calif., August 8, 2011 — Juniper Networks (NASDAQ:JNPR, news, filings) today announced that it has achieved ISO 14001 certification for its environmental management system. The certification is based on an external validation of the company’s environmental performance in the design, development, service and support of software, systems and silicon for high-performance networks.
“Juniper Networks is committed to understanding and effectively managing our impacts on the environment, and to producing the most efficient high-performance networking products in the industry” said Brad Minnis, senior director of Environmental Health and Safety, Juniper Networks. “We worked very hard to achieve ISO 14001 certification. As a result, our customers and stakeholders can feel confident that Juniper Networks is a leader in environmental management.”
Certification to the ISO 14001 standard requires companies to identify and control the environmental impacts of their activities, products and services. ISO 14001 also requires companies to continually improve their environmental performance and implement a systematic approach to setting and achieving environmental targets and objectives.
