FiberLight President Kevin Coyne Nominated for Atlanta Telecom Professional of the Year Award

(ATLANTA, Ga.) – ATP has announced that FiberLight President and COO Kevin B. Coyne is among an elite group of leading telecom professionals nominated for the Atlanta Telecom Professional of the Year (ATPY) award. ATP is an Atlanta-based non-profit organization created for the distribution and exchange of industry information and for the recognition of excellence in the telecom industry.

ATP will announce on November 8, 2011, who among the field of 75 enterprise and industry professionals will receive the 2011 Telecom Professional of the Year award as well as awards in the categories of Leadership, Innovation and Enterprise.

“On behalf of myself and FiberLight, I would like to express deep gratitude to ATP and the Atlanta telecom community for this nomination,” Mr. Coyne said. “FiberLight takes great pride in calling Atlanta home; we appreciate the recognition and the opportunity to acknowledge the important role ATP serves as a networking and education organization for the telecommunications industry.”

Mr. Coyne joined FiberLight’s former parent company, ACSI NT in 1998. Under Mr. Coyne’s progressive leadership, FiberLight was restructured in 2005 from ACSI NT into FiberLight, a leading provider of high bandwidth solutions.  Mr. Coyne earned a Master of Science degree in Taxation at University of Baltimore and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting at Towson State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Coyne is a board member of COMPTEL, a telecommunications industry organization. Additionally, Mr. Coyne serves on the advisory committee for telx, a worldwide interconnection and data center company, and Mr. Coyne is a board member of the National Kidney Foundation, Georgia and Alabama chapters.

Earlier this year, FiberLight was ranked 3rd among small mid-market companies for the 2011 Georgia Georgia Trend “Fast 40,” presented by the Association for Corporate Growth Atlanta Chapter (ACG) and the Georgia Fast 40 Founder and Diamond sponsor Cherry, Bekaert & Holland, LLP.  In 2010, FiberLight received recognition by Georgia Trend magazine when it was ranked 5th among Georgia’s small mid-market companies.
