NTT America has led IPv6 transition with eight years of capabilities
NTT America’s Chief Technology Officer Doug Junkins will be the keynote speaker at Light Reading’s “IPv6 2011: The Time is Now!” event on July 14 in New York. “IPv6 2011: The Time is Now!” is a one-day summit for Internet industry leaders focused on transitioning from IPv4 to IPv6.
NTT Communications has been a global industry leader in the transition to IPv6, with native and dual stack offerings dating back to 2004. Junkins will speak on the status of IPv6 adoption and how the depletion of IPv4 has impacted service providers and enterprises. He will share insight on the transition mechanisms today to help ease the migration to IPv6.
In his role as CTO of NTT America, Junkins is responsible for the company’s technology procurement strategy and vendor selection, industry relations and standardization efforts and overall product portfolio coordination across both the Global IP Network and Enterprise Solutions business units. Until April of 2011, Junkins jointly served as CTO of NTT America and vice president of IP development for the Global IP Network Business Unit. His responsibilities included network architecture, tool development and peering relations for the NTT Communications Global IP Network.
