“Global 2000 companies are telling us they are moving away from the legacy real estate-based data center model to next generation, Data Center 2.0 strategies; just-in-time, productized, scalable and software-optimized data center solutions,” said George D. Slessman, CEO of i/o. “Having a large enterprise customer go from inception to production in just 90 days after opening i/o NEW JERSEY clearly demonstrates that our i/o ANYWHERE solution can rapidly provide the digital energy required for enterprise-class, always-on information technology infrastructure.”

Combining i/o’s operational expertise with its purposefully designed and engineered hardware and software architecture, i/o delivers the world’s most efficient and scalable data center solutions. The i/o ANYWHERE modular platform is managed and optimized by the first data center operating system, i/o OS®, which seamlessly integrates the data center into an enterprise IT appliance to maximize resiliency, efficiency and utilization.

i/o ANYWHERE technology provides customers ultimate flexibility to scale their data centers through a choice of delivery models: customers can acquire immediate capacity through i/o’s Data Center as a Service (DCaaS™) delivered in a range of colocation cabinets, shared and dedicated modules, and multi-megawatt, customer-dedicated data centers or deployed as a product, which enables customers to own and operate modular data center solutions. Thus, i/o has completely disintermediated the data center infrastructure from the physical real estate, allowing customers to acquire digital energy without compromising location.

“The era of monolithic data centers is over. Modular data center solutions are the future – and happening today,” said Michelle Bailey, Research Vice President of IDC. “Adopting a modular platform means companies can deploy a data center when they need it – not months or years later – with a pay-as-you-grow path to guide future expansion.”
