OTTAWA — Tuesday, July 19, 2011 // BTI Systems, an innovator in intelligent packet optical networking for metropolitan networks, today announced the global expansion of its engineering, research and development functions under the leadership of the newly-named Senior Vice President of Engineering, Mike Grady. The expansion is aligned to support the BTI Systems broadening product portfolio and ensure delivery of innovative solutions for its global customer base, which includes more than 300 of the world’s largest service providers, competitive operators and content delivery networks. BTI Systems recent R&D expansion includes the creation of a Verification Center of Excellence in the Optical Valley Square in Wuhan, China. The Center is tasked with testing and verification of BTI’s broad range of innovative packet optical networking solutions. The addition of BTI’s Wuhan location complements its existing APAC operations in Shanghai, Malaysia and Singapore, along with sales and support activities in several other countries across the region. Under Grady’s leadership, existing R&D Centers of Excellence in both Belfast and Boston are also expanding. The company is adding personnel in Belfast, where engineers focus on developing tools for intelligent service creation, as well as in Boston, home to BTI Systems packet engineering & content delivery team. In addition, the engineering team at the company headquarters in Ottawa is also expanding staff to ensure delivery of its broader solutions portfolio.
