PAETEC's newest IP-Security Enhancements combine world-class protection with the continuous monitoring and updates of a cloud-based solution

PAETEC Holding Corp. (NASDAQ GS: PAET), a Fortune 1000 company that provides advanced communication solutions to businesses nationwide, announced it has further enhanced its popular Hosted E-mail Security and Hosted Web Security products focused on the evolving threats to modern business networks.
"As the number of IP-security threats that today's businesses face increase in magnitude, frequency, and sophistication, so has our advanced security solutions portfolio to ensure continuous protection of data and networks," said John Chapman, chief marketing officer of PAETEC. "We believe when combined with our other security solutions like Network Firewall and Intrusion Detection and Prevention System (IDPS), our complete security solution is among the most advanced available today."
The enhancements to E-mail Security have been designed to improve business continuity and provide security administrators more power and capabilities in managing their overall security policies. For example, during an interruption of service, all e-mails will now be safely stored and instantly accessible through a secure web interface, and then forwarded to local mail servers once connectivity is restored as part of e-mail spooling continuity. The service also comes with expanded reporting and policy management capabilities for IT staff. For organizations that need a higher level of security for inbound and outbound e-mail, the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol accepts and filters encrypted inbound and outbound messages and delivers them across a secure tunnel.
The Hosted Web Security solution has also been enhanced to alleviate the difficulty of successfully implementing roaming user browsing policies for Web users. Most Web security solutions don't address the growing needs of remote users. However, PAETEC's Hosted Web Security service allows administrators to configure remote user policies and access rules that can be tracked, filtered, and implemented with the same ease and effectiveness as a user on the company network. The service also has instituted new options for user granularity in policy creation and reporting.
