Carrier Ethernet innovator and market leader transcends competition to become finalist in preeminent business competition

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, June 08, 2011Overture Networks, the industry’s trusted Carrier Ethernet solutions provider, announced today it has been selected as a 2011 Stevie Awards finalist. With its advancement to the final round, Overture joins the ranks of an elite group of contenders, including Accenture; American Express; Siemens Industry, Inc.; and Sun Life Financial Inc. Winners will be announced at the yearly ABA gala on Monday, June 20th at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.

In the competition for the 2011 American Business Awards (ABA), the nation’s premier business awards program, Overture surpassed a number of other nominees to become one of only seven finalists in the “Business-to-Business Marketing Campaign of the Year” category. The company was chosen for its recent integrated marketing, social media and public relations campaign announcing its merger with fellow Carrier Ethernet market leader, Hatteras Networks. Attracting more than 2,800 nominations annually from organizations and enterprises of every size, the ABAs recognize outstanding workplace and business performance. A select group of more than 150 leading business executives is participating in the judging process; victors in each category will receive a coveted Stevie® Award, which are conferred to all ABA winners.

“Our integrated marketing and PR campaign announcing the Overture – Hatteras merger represents the fusion of sound strategy and tactical execution under a very aggressive timeline. This campaign required clear and effective messaging, precise timing, absolute secrecy during the planning, and strong engagement with our target audience; its success, as well as its recognition by ABA judges is a testament to the exceptional work and performance turned in by our communications team,” said D. Mark Durrett, director of marketing, Overture Networks. “We’re very pleased to be a Stevie Awards finalist and we wish all of our competitors the best as we move forward to the final round.”
