Lightower to Exhibit at SIFMA Financial Services Technology Leaders Forum and Expo in NYC, June 14-16

New York’s premier metro fiber provider displaying expanded New York City metro region network including low latency and ultra-low latency routes for the financial services industry

BOXBOROUGH, MA — June 6, 2011 — Lightower Fiber Networks, a leading metro fiber network and bandwidth service provider, announced that they will be exhibiting at the SIFMA Financial Services Technology Leaders Forum in New York City from June 14-16 at the Hilton New York Hotel.  Attendees of this year’s Forum will have the opportunity to meet with Lightower representatives at booth #1856 and learn more about the company’s expanding fiber network in the New York City metro region and the entire Northeast.

Lightower has aggressively expanded in recent years, especially in New York City, New Jersey, and Long Island, investing heavily in its offerings to the financial services community.  Lightower offers low latency and ultra-low latency routes between hundreds of New York City commercial buildings and all regional financial exchanges and interconnection facilities.

Customers with international networking also benefit from Lightower’s fiber-based access to six international landing stations on Long Island.  From these landing stations, customers can connect to all New York City and New Jersey area financial exchanges via low latency and ultra-low latency networking solutions.

Adding to its New York City area expansion, last month Lightower announced the completion of a new Hudson River crossing north of New York City and south of the Tappan Zee Bridge.  This new route offers  lower latency for customers connecting from financial centers in New Jersey and New York City up to Stamford and Greenwich, Connecticut, and other areas in New England.  This unique route also offers true diversity from common routes across the Tappan Zee Bridge.

Unique routes, extensive building access, low latency availability, diversity options, and local expertise make Lightower the fiber networking provider of choice to the financial services community.

“Lightower’s presence in New York City, New Jersey, and Long Island has greatly increased over the past year due to internal expansion as well as through strategic acquisitions.  Since last year’s SIFMA Forum, Lightower has added over 100 commercial buildings and data centers to our New York area network.  We have also built-out or acquired some of the best low latency routes between the area’s critical financial centers,” said Rob Shanahan, President and CEO, Lightower.  “Today, Lightower offers the premier fiber optic network to the financial services community in the New York metro region.”

Lightower has rapidly expanded in the New York City metro region over the past three years to meet surging demand for fiber-based networking solutions.  Earlier this year, Lightower completed the acquisition of Long Island-based Open Access Inc. Late last year, Lightower completed the acquisition of New York City-based Lexent Metro Connect.

Organized by SIFMA (Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association), the 31st Annual Financial Services Technology Expo is the premier event focusing on technology in the financial services market. Considered one of the industry’s leading events with over 200 vendors and 8,000 attendees, this year’s conference will address the rapidly-changing world of technology and how the financial industry is using technology to drive productivity, comply with regulatory requirements, and adapt to converging markets, products and investors.
