Atlanta, GA (June 1, 2011) - QTS (Quality Technology Services), one of the nation's largest and fastest-growing providers of data center facilities and managed services, today announced that its Jersey City Data Center has been chosen by Generic Network Systems (GNS), a leading managed services, portfolio accounting and trading systems SaaS provider for the financial services industry, to host its latest expansion of the GNS platform. Terms of the multi-year agreement were not disclosed.
"Hosting of financial services applications and cloud computing is the fastest growing part of our business," said Robert Trangmar, managing director - Generic Network Systems. "As we looked for a primary data center in the New York area, we sought a large carrier-neutral facility that had the necessary network connectivity and robust facility features that our financial client base demands to host business critical applications. The QTS Jersey City Data Center had everything we were seeking."
QTS is currently making a significant increase in supported power density in its Jersey City Data Center, which increases capacity to support customers. When fully complete, the upgraded facility will have over 5.0 MW of power and more than 50,000 square feet of raised floor.
"The SAS 70 certified facility at QTS Jersey City fit our hosting needs, and with the expanded power capacity, the increased density will enable QTS to handle GNS' growth as well," Trangmar said.
"More and more service providers need carrier-neutral colocation and virtualization, and our new inventory of power and square footage in the New York metropolitan area makes QTS the ideal solution for many companies, particularly in the financial services sector," said Mark Waddington, president and chief operating officer - QTS. "We're pleased that GNS has selected QTS's Jersey City facility for its data center needs."
