Alpheus Communications Announces Metrolocity® Expansion

…available immediately in all Texas markets

HOUSTON: June 1, 2011:  Today Alpheus Communications announced a major expansion of its popular “Metrolocity” interconnection service with the addition of Ethernet peering capabilities.  Metrolocity-for-Ethernet saves precious time and capital for carriers who wish to pass Internet Protocol (“IP”) traffic through any Alpheus Ethernet interface facility. Metrolocity’s thirty-one existing customers – which include most competitive wireless and wire line operators in Texas – can order the new service immediately. Alpheus provides high capacity Point-to-Point connectivity for some customers, and full Wide-Area-Networks (“WAN”) management for other customers. Metrolocity-for-Ethernet allows the flexibility for customized self management using Alpheus facilities, when that is the customer’s preferred approach.

Paul Hobby, Chief Executive Officer of Alpheus, said, “Our facilities are already regional hubs for voice and data traffic, so this is a nice way to help our customers leverage their existing investment as the transition to Ethernet picks up speed.”
