Allied Fiber Announces a Planned Dark Fiber Network to DuPont Fabros’ Piscataway, New Jersey Data Center

NEW YORK, NY–(Marketwire – 06/29/11) – Allied Fiber, the owner, builder and operator of a network-neutral, dark fiber cable system and DuPont Fabros Technology, Inc. (NYSE:DFTNews), the owner, developer and operator of highly specialized, secure, network-neutral wholesale data centers, today announce they have signed an agreement to connect Allied’s long-haul dark fiber system to DFT’s Piscataway, NJ data center, commonly known as NJ1. This connection should be operational in the fourth quarter of 2011.

With this build, Allied Fiber’s system will be able to leverage DFT’s 3-Lateral Underground Duct Bank in Piscataway, offering a secure, reliable and diverse fiber entrance into NJ1. DFT’s 3-Lateral Underground Duct Bank supplies providers like Allied Fiber with fast, secure and diverse physical access to NJ1. Additionally, Allied Fiber’s network will provide a unique dark fiber route from New Jersey directly to Chicago, bypassing the island of Manhattan.
