Sidera Networks and Allied Fiber Announce Strategic Network Partnership

Collaboration gives Allied Fiber access to the fastest, most reliable connectivity to key data centers and provides Sidera access to dark fiber for network expansion and enhancement

New York – May 19, 2011 – Sidera Networks, the premier provider of fiber optic-based network solutions, today announces its partnership with Allied Fiber to access Allied Fiber’s dark fiber network in New Jersey and Virginia. In return, Allied Fiber’s clients can leverage Sidera’s Xtreme Network for the fastest, most reliable network connectivity from Piscataway, New Jersey to New York, New York.

Sidera’s Xtreme Network provides ultra low-latency connectivity to key exchanges and data centers in New Jersey and New York. Since its launch in September 2009, financial institutions throughout Sidera’s footprint have leveraged access to the Xtreme Network to gain a significant competitive advantage. This relationship will enable both the expansion of Sidera’s Xtreme Network within New Jersey and the enhancement of Sidera’s network along the mid-Atlantic corridor. Allied Fiber’s dark fiber network in Virginia offers Sidera the ability to create a secondary route to this region, giving its clients added diversity which enables greater network resiliency.

Allied Fiber is in the process of a five-phase project to design, build and operate a carrier-neutral dark fiber network connecting local, regional, national and international networks to major telecommunications hubs.  This network plan was created to address America’s need for more broadband access, wireless backhaul, data center distribution and lower latency communications services.  With access to direct connectivity from Piscataway, New Jersey to New York, New York through Sidera’s Xtreme Network, Allied Fiber’s clients can receive low-latency access, backed by industry-leading SLAs to key data centers in Jersey City and Weehawken, New Jersey.
