GENBAND solution enables leading Swiss wholesale provider to offer cable operator customers cost-effective delivery of IP voice and multimedia services
Cologne, Germany, May 3, 2011 – GENBAND, a leading developer of IP infrastructure and application solutions, today announced that ImproWare AG, the leading Internet and voice carrier in Northern Switzerland, has selected GENBAND’s Safari C3 switching platform for advanced multimedia communications services. The Safari C3 enables ImproWare’s cable operator customers to offer scalable, simplified and cost-effective delivery of multimedia services. Designed to increase carrier-class network security and privacy, GENBAND’s SAFARI C3 is the only totally integrated multimedia communications switch that incorporates all voice-switching infrastructure components and provides SIP and NCS-based features for residential subscribers. The Safari C3 also supports the deployment of additional services such as SIP trunking, IP Centrex, and SIP interconnect.
“Upgrading to GENBAND’s Safari C3 provides our customers with superior performance and reliability, and significantly reduces their capital expenditures,” said Sacha Gloor, ImproWare CEO. “Combined with our IDMS provisioning solution, we now have the flexibility to future-proof our voice and multimedia solutions for our customers. With the help of GENBAND’s services and support, we will also ensure seamless system integration to meet our customers’ performance and functionality requirements.”
“We are pleased to support ImproWare as they continue to invest in their state-of-the-art, wholesale European networking services with IP voice and multimedia communications services,” said Pablo Gargiulo, President of Global Sales for GENBAND. “The Safari C3 allows ImproWare to significantly enhance their offerings for cable operator customers with a scalable system that introduces new services such as video telephony and fixed-mobile applications, while at the same time reducing total cost of ownership and leveraging initial equipment investments in residential and commercial multimedia infrastructure. Our rapidly growing cable customer base continues to strengthen our leadership position as the leading provider of IP voice and multimedia solutions to the cable market.”
In a single chassis system, the Safari C3 combines the key high-quality attributes of legacy TDM-based Class 4 and 5 voice switches with the functional components of distributed IP voice and multimedia networks. The platform’s highly scalable architecture enables it to serve a broad range of both residential and business customers, supporting up to 250,000 subscribers on a single platform.
GENBAND will showcase the Safari C3 at this year’s ANGA Cable Show in Cologne, Germany, May 3-5. In addition to the Safari C3, visitors to GENBAND’s booth (stand N10 in Hall 10.1) will have an opportunity to see some of the industry’s most innovative IP based communications solutions that are designed to help cable operators increase revenue potential and improve subscriber loyalty through the delivery of advanced voice, multimedia and mobility communications services.
