Centina Systems’ Continued Innovation Drives Its International Growth Supporting the Communications Industry With NetOmnia for End-to-End Service Assurance, Fault and Performance Management
PLANO, TX–(Marketwire – May 25, 2011) – Today, Centina Systems announced the selection of NetOmnia™, a customer-centric network and service assurance solution and VC4’s Inventory Management System (IMS) to manage and monitor the network of Gulf Bridge International (GBI), the Middle East’s most advanced subsea cable system providing broadband carrier services to telecom operators from around the Gulf and beyond.
NetOmnia and IMS will be deployed by GBI to provide comprehensive inventory, fault and performance management across their entire subsea and terrestrial network infrastructures. The deployment will also include integration into GBI’s other back-office systems to automate the flow of data. The integration of NetOmnia and IMS will provide GBI with a seamless OSS solution.
Dan Liongson, Network Administration Director for GBI commented: “In preparation for our launch later this year, our team evaluated the OSS and network management solutions on the market today from the leading best-in-breed OSS solution providers. Our goal with this selection was to find the most comprehensive and innovative solution built on the latest technologies to allow us to deploy quickly and provide outstanding service and response times to our customers. We found Centina Systems to be the most advanced, flexible and easy-to-use system. The deployment of NetOmnia will allow GBI to accelerate our deployments and growth as well as provide an unprecedented level of network performance and customer visibility.” Mr. Liongson further added, “We are looking forward to beginning the implementation and deployment. This solution will significantly benefit our customers’ and our capabilities in the areas of service delivery and service assurance for many years to come.”
Anand Gonuguntla, CEO for Centina Systems, said, “We are pleased to add GBI to our growing list of customers. With NetOmnia, GBI will be able to deliver outstanding customer service and network performance and have the ability to manage end to end services in real-time.” He continued, “Since GBI’s customers are also telecom carriers requiring the highest levels of network availability, they will be able to leverage NetOmnia’s web-based user interface to quickly identify and resolve affected services and impacted customers as well as view network performance trends to address potential problems before they occur. With NetOmnia’s innovative Web 2.0 portals, GBI can also allow customers to view the health of their services in real-time.”
Mike Dorland, CEO of VC4, said, “We are very excited that GBI has chosen VC4’s IMS. Together with Centina Systems, we will deploy a fully integrated OSS encompassing inventory management, network planning, workflow, trouble ticketing, alarm & performance management and service assurance. This deployment is further evidence of our continued successful growth in the EMEA region.”
