Overture Networks and Global Carrier Ethernet Take Center Stage at Light Reading’s Ethernet Europe 2011

Global market leader to highlight Carrier Ethernet innovations, advantages, and challenges

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, April 7, 2011 – Overture Networks, the industry’s trusted Carrier Ethernet solutions provider, today announced that Kevin Sheehan, company president, and Mark Durrett, director of marketing, will be among the featured speakers at Ethernet Europe 2011. Hosted by respected online media and research firm, Light Reading, the annual event is one of the world’s foremost gatherings of Ethernet thought leaders, practitioners, and visionaries. Celebrating its 11th year, Ethernet Europe 2011 is April 12 – 13, 2011, in London, UK.

Mr. Sheehan will participate in a session entitled “Carrier Ethernet Service Differentiation: Tools & Techniques”, which will explore the expanding array of innovative options available to service providers in the rapidly changing Ethernet services market. Among the discussion topics to be covered are ubiquitous connectivity, bandwidth granularity and scalability, and value-added applications. Mr. Durrett will be taking part in a session entitled “Carrier Ethernet Network Solutions: The Competitive Advantage of Multiple Access Options.” The session will offer real-world examples of how service providers are extending their service footprint, gaining a competitive advantage and exceeding customer expectations through the use of multiple Carrier Ethernet access solutions like Optical Ethernet, Ethernet-over-bonded copper and Ethernet-over-TDM.

“With its flexibility, scalability, and robust service quality, Carrier Ethernet has matured to become the go-to option for service providers worldwide that are seeking to stand out in today’s highly competitive marketplace,” said Kevin Sheehan, president, Overture Networks. “Ethernet services have not yet achieved their full service potential primarily because they are not universally available to all target applications. Additionally, where services are available from more than one provider, the carriers are always looking for additional means to differentiate their services, and generate more revenue per user. Overture is very pleased to have the opportunity to share its real-world Carrier Ethernet experiences, expertise, and vision for the future at Ethernet Europe 2011.”

Both “Carrier Ethernet Network Solutions: The Competitive Advantage of Multiple Access Options” and Carrier Ethernet Service Differentiation: Tools & Techniques” will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 10:55 AM GMT and 3:25 PM GMT, respectively.
