OFS JOINS ALLIED FIBER’S DARK FIBER COMMUNITY

Norcross, Georgia, April 4, 2011 – OFS, designer, manufacturer and supplier of leading edge fiber optic network products, today announces that it has joined Allied Fiber’s Dark Fiber Community.

Allied Fiber created the Dark Fiber Community in response to the rising demands for its dark fiber products and services from network operators and companies seeking to build new, as well as extend existing dark fiber networks. The Dark Fiber Community is an online resource providing information, visibility and contact details for industry-leading vendors as well as the opportunity to plan meetings with global suppliers.

“We are proud to be part of Allied Fiber’s Dark Fiber Community,” said Peter Spehr, Director of Sales at OFS. “As a provider and innovator of the latest optical fiber, cable and connectivity solutions, we see value in working in this online networking and educational platform to stay active with other industry leaders in order to meet customer needs.”

“OFS recognizes the critical need for full spectrum fiber technologies to enable the communication industry’s growing demand for low latency, high bandwidth product solutions to be utilized in cellular wireless backhaul, green energy, data centers, FTTH deployments and other evolving applications,” continues Spehr.

“The Dark Fiber Community serves as an online directory for network operators, featuring industry news, video interviews, relevant whitepapers and access to an online one-on-one meeting system,” explains Jason Cohen, President & COO of Allied Fiber. “Combined, these tools serve to further educate the network buyer marketplace and offer invaluable resources and connections to credible network suppliers. Adding OFS to the Dark Fiber Community introduces a deeper resource in the Fiber segment of the industry for those in search of information and solutions for their network needs.”
