Infinera (NASDAQ:INFN, news, filings) announced the appointment of Andrew Bond-Webster as Vice President of Sales for Asia Pacific to accelerate Infinera’s focus on marketing Digital Optical Network solutions in the Asia Pacific region.
According to data from analyst firm Ovum, the Asia Pacific WDM market accounted for a total of $1.9 billion in revenue last year, with a forecast annual growth rate of 10% from 2010 to 2015. Infinera has achieved significant success in the region with major customers including Japan’s largest service provider NTT and leading independent service provider Pacnet, headquartered in Hong Kong and Singapore and active throughout Asia. Mr. Bond-Webster will help Infinera broaden and deepen its focus in this important market.
Mr. Bond-Webster brings more than 20 years of experience in the terrestrial and satellite telecommunications industry across wide geographical markets and industry verticals to his new role at Infinera. His previous experience includes senior sales and marketing roles at technology suppliers and service providers in the Asia region, including Cable and Wireless and Equant Network Services.
