BroadSoft’s Scott Hoffpauir Selected as SmartCEO Magazine’s CTO of the Year

GAITHERSBURG, MD – April 27, 2011 – BroadSoft, Inc. (NASDAQ:BSFT, news, filings), the leading global provider of software that enables fixed-line, mobile and cable service providers to deliver real-time communications over their IP networks, today announced that Scott Hoffpauir was selected as a chief technology officer (CTO) of the year at the first annual SmartCEO Magazine, SmartCXO Awards, April 26th at FedEx Field in Landover, MD. Mr. Hoffpauir drove product and technology innovation in 2010, leading the firm’s launch of BroadCloud™, a cloud-based, hosted infrastructure enabling telecommunications service providers to rapidly deliver Unified Communications services, followed by MobileMxD™, which extends BroadCloud’s benefits and services to mobile operators, and emerging next generation mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets.

The SmartCXO Awards highlight chief executives who have gone above and beyond to support their organization’s initiatives. SmartCEO will profile CFOs, COOs, CIO/CTOs and executive management teams with the first annual SmartCXO Awards in the April issue.

Mr. Hoffpauir is a co-founder of BroadSoft. As CTO he is responsible for guiding the technical vision and direction for the company as well as promoting continuous product innovation. Mr. Hoffpauir manages BroadSoft’s engineering, operations and product management functions and began serving as a co-founder and Vice President, Engineering of BroadSoft in 1998. Prior to BroadSoft, he was Director of GSM Development at Celcore (DSC/Alcatel USA). In this role, he was responsible for all product development on the GSM switching product. Before Celcore, he was senior architect for Nortel’s GSM and Inter-Exchange Carrier switching systems. Mr. Hoffpauir holds multiple patents in the GSM, SIP, call processing and switching areas. Hoffpauir is an alumnus of University of Louisiana Lafayette.
