Kansas City, MO (March 1, 2011) – Unite Private Networks (UPN) announced the completion of a 23 mile fiber-optic network in Corydon, Indiana. Initial customers on the network include the South Harrison School District and other local customers. Over 100 landowners provided easements for the work to be completed.
The 10 year agreement for the Wide Area Network services with the South Harrison School District provides for a significant increase in the bandwidth capacity available to the District.
“South Harrison Schools was looking for a unique solution that allowed them to grow their bandwidth well into the future.” said Rob Oyler, Executive Vice President, Business Development for UPN. “This network will provide the District with a level of bandwidth they were not able to find with the typical ILEC and Cable offerings. The number of applications and new technologies this will facilitate promises to provide them with a leg-up educating their students.”
UPN specializes in providing high-bandwidth, fiber-based communications networks and related services to schools, government, carriers, data centers and enterprise business customers. UPN currently provides service in 14 states, primarily in the Midwest U.S.
“We were very pleased with the professionalism UPN demonstrated while building our network.” said Jim Crisp, CIO of South Harrison Schools. “If there were issues, UPN took care of them quickly and to everyone’s satisfaction. They completed the network on time and we are very satisfied with their work. We look forward to leveraging the new network capabilities.”
