ELLENSBURG, Wash. (March 10, 2010) – FairPoint Communications today announced that Patrick T. Murphy has taken on a new role as senior director of competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) business development, responsible for developing this important business channel. Murphy joined the company as network operations manager in 2003 and was promoted into positions of increasing responsibility. His more recent role was senior director of engineering for the Telecom Group, which is comprised of local exchange companies across the country; a position he held since 2008.
“Patrick has been working in the Telecom Group CLEC market for some time,” said Vice President and Telecom Group COO Jim Cook. “In this new role, Patrick will be able to fully focus on the Telecom Group CLEC channel and better leverage his expertise to help FairPoint continue developing these important business relationships in our Telecom markets.”
Before joining FairPoint, Murphy was a senior systems project engineer for ADC Telecommunications in Tustin, California. Murphy has a bachelor’s degree from Central Washington University and resides in Ellensburg.
