NEW YORK – Verizon’s top security and health care technology expert will address the 2011 Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) annual conference on Feb. 22. In an address titled “Prescriptions for Health IT: What’s Holding Us Back,” Dr. Peter Tippett, Verizon vice president of security and industry solutions, will assess the current state of U.S. health IT and highlight key transformational elements needed to help advance medicine, improve patient outcomes and control health care costs.
