PAETEC Holding Corp. (NASDAQ GS: PAET), a Fortune 1000 company that provides advanced communication solutions to businesses nationwide, today celebrated that for the fifth consecutive year, Training magazine has named the company to the Training Top 125, an exclusive list of the leading internal training organizations in the world. The company ranked number 35, climbing three spots from its position on the 2010 list.

“As we continue to develop advanced managed service solutions for our customers, a strong internal training department has never been more vital,” said Chief Marketing and Training Officer, John Chapman. “The strength of our training professionals has been a key factor in our success delivering our deep product portfolio to tens of thousands of businesses with an unmatched level of service.”

On the 2010 list, PAETEC is ranked higher than major, multinational companies such as Wells Fargo & Company (#38), FedEx Express (#70) and UPS (#103).

PAETEC’s training program offers employees a comprehensive portfolio of courses on systems, solutions and sales skills. The core foundation of the training program is the PAETEC Selling Technology and PAETEC Management Technology for sales and management employees. In 2010, the department conducted approximately 300 in-person training sessions and online webinars, in addition to developing a library of more than 70 Computer-Based Training modules. The department also directly focuses on developing sales talent through an on-boarding process for new reps and continually assessing overall proficiency with associated training to address found needs.

“Receiving this honor for the fifth consecutive year while progressively moving up the list each year demonstrates our senior leaders’ commitment to training,” said David McGeough, vice president of Training. “I congratulate everyone on our training team for their dedication and their passion for ensuring our employees have the knowledge needed to excel in their jobs.”

To be eligible for the list, companies were required to complete an in-depth nomination form, including fundamental questions about leadership development, achieving corporate goals, and how training is tied to business objectives for all departments. Training magazine then used an outside research and statistical data company to score companies based on the information provided. Magazine editors then reviewed each application to determine final rankings.
