Telx Activates Ethernet Exchange in Miami, Dallas and Los Angeles

Customers in Three Key Urban Markets Can Leverage Industry-Leading Marketplace of Providers to Extend Networks

New York, NY (January 17, 2011) – Telx®, a leading interconnection and colocation provider in strategic North American markets, today announced the deployment of the Telx Ethernet Exchange service at its strategically located data centers in Miami, Dallas and Los Angeles. Service providers, enterprises and cloud/SaaS providers can leverage Telx’s industry-leading marketplaces in these three locations to improve communications and service delivery while reducing the cost and complexity associated with adding new customers in geographically underserved areas.

“Telx has rapidly added Ethernet Exchange service locations in carrier-dense, high-demand U.S. data centers,” said Glenn Calafati, VP and General Manager of Interconnection Services for Telx. “With the addition of Miami, Dallas and Los Angeles, we can now offer customers the exponential value of interconnecting via Ethernet technology in the Telx Interconnection Center, a full suite of virtual and fiber-based connectivity solutions. Through our relationship with Neutral Tandem, Telx now offers the best nationwide coverage bolstered by Ethernet technology, enabling customers to connect advanced IP services and access content on Carrier, enterprise and media networks.”

The Telx Ethernet Exchange is available in New York, Chicago, Atlanta and San Francisco. By adding Miami, Dallas and Los Angeles data centers, with access to 260+ service providers, Telx gives customers a seamless connection to a wide variety of international networks, carriers, media and gaming companies.

“By continuing to expand its Ethernet Exchange footprint, Telx positions itself well to capitalize on growing demand for Ethernet services.  In ATLANTIC-ACM’s recent Metro Wholesale Report Card, buyers of metro wholesale services indicated they expect their spending on Ethernet to grow by 19% in the coming year,” said Aaron Blazar, Vice President, ATLANTIC-ACM.
