Charlotte, NC – 19 January 2011 – DukeNet Communications, a leading regional service provider offering high bandwidth data services to enterprise, data center, government, and carrier customers, today announces that it has been awarded the MEF 9 and MEF 14 certifications for Ethernet Private Line (EPL).
The MEF certification programs are designed to accelerate the deployment of Carrier Ethernet services worldwide by offering assurance to corporate, institutional, and government subscribers that certified services strictly match Carrier Ethernet service requirements. The tests were conducted by Iometrix, the official laboratory committed to providing globally recognized and trusted certifications for Carrier Ethernet. DukeNet Communications Ethernet solution succeeded in a number of comprehensive tests determining its readiness to deliver standard Ethernet services, and is now fully MEF 9 and MEF 14 certified.
“DukeNet remains committed to our customers by offering innovative Ethernet solutions that support advanced Ethernet applications in the enterprise, data center, government, and carrier market segments,” said Tony Cockerham, DukeNet’s Chief Operating Officer. “The rigorous industry standards met by DukeNet underscore the importance of providing compliant Ethernet services to our existing and future customers,” he added.
“We are delighted to welcome DukeNet to the MEF Certification Program and congratulate them on this significant achievement,” said Nan Chen President of MEF. “The ability to offer certified, compliant MEF services is key to demonstrating both the quality and performance of Carrier Ethernet services to end user customers.”
The two MEF Carrier Ethernet certifications are:
- MEF 9 which verifies that Carrier Ethernet EPL complies with MEF functional specifications defined for each service
- MEF 14 which verifies that Carrier Ethernet services comply with MEF service performance objectives
“The recent certification of DukeNet Communications supports the strong expansion of MEF compliant Carrier Ethernet services,” said Bob Mandeville, President of Iometrix. “We are pleased to see DukeNet Communications bring its MEF certified services to the high growth southeast area of the United States.”
