Level 3 Rolls out Dedicated Internet Access and Virtual Private Network Services for Enterprise Customers in Several European Markets

New Services Provide Increased Reach and Scalability with Direct Connectivity to the Level 3 Backbone

LONDON–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Level 3 Communications, Inc. (NYSE:LVLT, news, filings) today announced that, building on the company’s extensive experience offering its Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) and virtual private network (VPN) service portfolios in North America, it will make the services available in several European markets, including France, Germany and the United Kingdom.

The DIA service gives enterprise customers the most direct route to Level 3’s Tier 1 backbone for Internet access and is complemented by the virtual private network (VPN) portfolio, which offers several solutions for high-performance wide area networking (WAN).

Together these services serve as an ideal and easily integrated solution set for enterprise customers who already rely on Level 3 for colocation or low-latency transport services as well as businesses that don’t currently operate their own Autonomous System (AS) network.

Effective today, the services will be available to customers in these markets in a range of speeds and access methods. Features of the services include redundant and scalable infrastructure, DNS resolution, and 24-hour monitoring and support.

“As one of the world’s largest and most broadly connected Internet backbones, Level 3 has the international reach to connect businesses to many places through a single provider,” said James Heard, president of European Markets at Level 3. “Just as importantly, the fact that we own and operate our network gives us the power to control, scale and optimize our services for customers every step of the way, allowing us to provide the flexibility that our Enterprise customers demand.”

Together with Level 3’s VPN services, the DIA service offering allows the company to address new areas of the enterprise market in Europe and helps enterprise customers better ensure a quality Internet experience for their customers, employees and business partners. The announcement is the latest example of Level 3’s commitment to investing in its European network capabilities and building its portfolio of services to better meet the needs of enterprise customers.
