Mumbai – December 2010 – Tata Communications, a leading provider of the new world of communications has received awards for the Best Wholesale Ethernet Service (APAC) and the Best Service Provider of the Year (APAC) from the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF), as part of its 2010 awards.

The MEF accolades, awarded in conjunction with a global industry alliance of over 150 international companies tasked to accelerate the worldwide adoption of carrier-class Ethernet networks and services, is testimony to Tata Communications’ leadership in the development, delivery and coverage of carrier Ethernet services. The judging panel which included five global and regional analysts concluded that Tata Communications provided the best Ethernet service offering in Asia.

Metro Ethernet Forum President Nan Chen said, “The revised categories in this year’s Service Provider Awards were a reflection of the increasing maturity of the Carrier Ethernet services market.
