Outsourcery selects TelecityGroup for unrivalled power availability to support cloud services roll-out

Outsourcery, the UK’s leading independent provider of unified communications and cloud solutions, has selected TelecityGroup’s state-of-the-art Powergate facility as its primary data centre.


The decision will guarantee the availability of Outsourcery cloud services to its customers – including infrastructure, applications and storage – maximising resiliency and business continuity.

Due to the nature of its business, ensuring maximum availability is critical to Outsourcery, as its customers rely on the company’s ground-breaking cloud services to run their businesses. Outsourcery is currently experiencing 100 percent year-on-year growth, and made the decision to use a third-party data centre provider to ensure its infrastructure can scale to cope with such increasing demand. When looking for a data centre, it needed to ensure that significant provision of power and resiliency for its IT services, as well as the physical capacity to enable growth.

Ryan O’Reilly, Head of Telecoms Infrastructure and Networks at Outsourcery, comments: “We chose TelecityGroup’s Powergate facility because it is one of the most advanced data centres in the UK. The power availability is the key differentiator for us; the supply of 20kW per rack ensures that we have scope to grow, and this is vitally important for the virtual cloud services we will be providing from the facility. Additionally, it is centrally located making it easy for our engineers to visit.”

Powergate is at the forefront of data centre innovation, and with the new expansion will eventually offer approximately 15,000 square metres and 29 megawatts (MW) of customer capacity. Ideal for both high and low density needs, Powergate’s flexible infrastructure has been designed to provide up to 20 kilowatts (kW) of customer power per rack as standard. Additionally, Powergate offers access to a major national networks and broadband providers to support Outsourcery’s multiple points of presence in the UK.

The facility also complies with the EU’s Code of Conduct for Data Centres.
