Colt, Europe’s leading information delivery platform, today announced that it will appoint Bernard Geoghegan as Executive Vice President of Colt Data Centre Services in January 2011. In this role Geoghegan will be responsible for managing Colt’s newly formed Data Centre Services business.
Geoghegan will join Colt from Digital Realty Trust and is set to head up this Colt business and oversee the growth of its Modular Data Centre strategy announced in July 2010. This radical new approach to data centres redefines the method of construction and delivery of large data centre halls.

Geoghegan will be joining Colt from Digital Realty Trust where he is Senior Vice President responsible for international business. Prior to this he held the position of CEO at Servecentric Ltd., a provider of co-location and premium managed services to the Irish market. He has also held a number of senior Operations and IT roles at Worldport and Xeros Europe, and various IT Management and Software Development roles with Pioneer Investments, Informix Software Inc., Digital Equipment Corporation and Ashton-Tate.
