ZAYO EXPANDS SERVICES IN NASHVILLE
New Colocation Assets to Serve Carrier and Enterprise Clients
LOUISVILLE, Colo.– October 5, 2010 – Zayo Colocation (zColo), a network neutral provider of colocation and interconnection services, announced today that it has expanded its services into Nashville, Tennessee. zColo’s new assets include the 9,000 square foot data center facility located in downtown Nashville, at 209 Tenth Avenue South, where zColo will provide colocation, interconnection and bandwidth services to carrier and enterprise customers from this location.
The Nashville assets will accompany zColo’s other colocation facilities located throughout the United States. zColo is the exclusive manager and operator of the 60 Hudson St. Meet-Me-Room in New York and operates other premier colocation facilities in the New York/New Jersey metro market, Los Angeles, and Chicago. The new asset is 15,400 square feet with 9,000 square feet of colocation space built out with approximately 3,500 square feet of expansion space of which, only 5% is currently being utilized.
“The Nashville Data Center is a great facility with excellent connectivity, and it was un-affected by the flooding earlier in the year,” stated David Howson, President, zColo. “We look forward to becoming an active part of Nashville’s thriving business community by continuing to invest in the city’s technology infrastructure.”
Zayo Group’s President and CEO, Dan Caruso, added, “Nashville was a natural choice for zColo given its high demand for colocation services and Zayo Group’s complementary assets in the area.”
This investment is the latest in a series of major investments by Zayo in the state of Tennessee. In 2007, Zayo purchased Memphis Networx, a provider of bandwidth infrastructure services over an extensive metropolitan fiber network. Over the past year Zayo announced the successful deployment of the latest generation of high speed, fiber based Ethernet services for its Memphis customers and completed substantial network expansions to deliver fiber based bandwidth to cell towers. Most recently, Zayo completed its acquisition of American Fiber Systems, which has an expansive fiber network in Nashville.
