TelePacific Communications Completes Acquisition of O1 Communications’ Small-to-Medium Business Customers and Network

TelePacific Communications, the largest CLEC providing integrated voice and data telecommunications services to the small and medium-sized business (“SMB”) customer segment in California and Nevada, announced that it has received regulatory approval and completed the acquisition of the SMB customer base and various network assets of O1 Communications (“O1”), including O1’s data center. TelePacific gained approximately 1,000 business customers, as well as enhanced IP network assets, in California. The new TelePacific Communications has 1.18 million access lines serving 38,000 business and wholesale customers in California and Nevada.

TelePacific now owns a SAS 70 Type II certified data center located in Sacramento, California. The 18,500-square foot data center will allow TelePacific to offer additional managed services to existing and new customers. The addition of O1’s SMB customers and network assets in Northern California enhances TelePacific’s increasingly robust network and product offerings.

TelePacific provides a variety of telecommunications services, including local, long distance, data networking, Internet access, integrated and other enhanced business services including mobile, managed security and business continuity, to SMB customers in California and Nevada. The acquisition reinforces TelePacific as the number one competitor to AT&T and Verizon for SMB customers within California.

“We are pleased to welcome O1’s SMB customers to the TelePacific family and look forward to introducing them to TelePacific’s signature customer service,” said Dick Jalkut, President and CEO of TelePacific. “The additional resources we gained through this acquisition, including the data center and O1’s state-of-the-art IP network, have enhanced our ability to serve our customers. The new TelePacific is poised for additional growth and well-positioned to expand our market share.”

TelePacific extended offers to all of the O1 SMB employees to join the Company at the time of the close and is fortunate to have them supporting the legacy O1 customers. TelePacific continues to be privately-held and financial terms of the deal were not announced.
