Spread Networks Introduces 15.75 millisecond Low Latency Wave Service between New York and Chicago

Ridgeland, MS – October 14, 2010 – Spread Networks, LLC, a privately owned telecommunications provider, today announced the introduction of low latency Ethernet wave services connecting New York and Chicago in under 15.75 milliseconds – the lowest latency of any commercially available wavelength services connecting America’s largest financial centers.

Spread Networks is offering one and ten gigabit wave services at a guaranteed round-trip latency of 15.75 milliseconds. Each customer will receive a dedicated wavelength, so there is no shared bandwidth. Spread Networks’ wave service offers connectivity between Chicago and Carteret, New Jersey which is where the NASDAQ’s data center is located.

“Offering the lowest-latency wave services available between these two critical financial centers reaffirms Spread Networks’ commitment to providing enterprise customers of all kinds the new network standard for low latency, security and diversity between New York and Chicago” said David Barksdale, CEO of Spread Networks. “Spread Networks is offering customers a dedicated wavelength on our technologically advanced network, providing the utmost in speed, reliability and connectivity.”

Spread Networks low latency wave service is a fully managed and secure point to point Ethernet service designed for enterprise customers that value low latency connectivity between the nation’s largest financial centers. In addition to electronic trading firms, this service is ideal for brokers and market data vendors that offer their customers low latency access to algorithms, markets and data; and exchanges, electronic communication networks (ECN) and alternative trading systems (ATS) that offer their customers low latency access to their trading platforms. The network is monitored by a dedicated customer service team and backed by a competitive service level agreement.

Spread Networks delivers the low latency wave service on its diverse, brand new fiber network that was built from the ground up with the financial community in mind. To build this network, Spread Networks literally trenched a long-haul route on the shortest possible path connecting New York and Chicago.

Spread Networks inaugurated its network service in August 2010, establishing the benchmark for ultra low latency connecting New York and Chicago. Spread Networks provides customers with their own private network to achieve a ‘clean speed,’ allowing data to run as close as possible to the true speed of light through fiber, and is marketed to customers who are looking for the absolute lowest possible latency.
