TelecityGroup CEO receives prestigious accolade for business leadership and continued growth
Michael Tobin, Chief Executive Officer of TelecityGroup, Europe’s industry-leading provider of premium network independent data centres, has been named Ernst & Young’s ‘Entrepreneur of the Year for UK IT Services’ at the overall UK awards ceremony in London.
Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year is one of the world’s most prestigious business accolades for entrepreneurs. It celebrates those that build and lead successful, growing and dynamic businesses; recognising them through regional, national and global awards programmes in more than 135 cities in 50 countries.
The UK national finals were judged by an independent panel of leading UK business figures, who were impressed by the culture of innovation that Tobin has fostered at TelecityGroup and how this results in ongoing shareholder value. Under Tobin’s leadership, the Group has continued to demonstrate strong growth; its financial results for the six months ended 30 June 2010 showed 29% EBITDA growth and 28% EPS growth, and continued demand-led expansion with total announced data centre capacity now 92MW, up from 60MW in H1 2009.
