Fiber Transport Company Leverages Telx’s Carrier Ecosystem in Chicago to Cost Effectively Broaden Services Offered in Montana
New York, NY (Sept. 28, 2010) – Telx®, a leading interconnection and colocation provider in strategic North American markets, today announced that Vision Net, a premier provider of telecommunications transport services in Montana, has selected Telx as an interconnection and colocation partner in its 350 East Cermak Road location in Chicago. By selecting Telx’s carrier-neutral data center, Vision Net can cost-effectively offer its business communications customers greater connectivity choice through direct access to a wide array of leading carriers currently not available in the Montana area.
“The Telx colocation center in Chicago allows us to tap into a greater number of carriers when connecting our Montana customer base, thanks to Telx’s large provider ecosystem,” said Corey Jensen, operations manager for Vision Net. “To have these carriers installed in Montana through other methods would have been too cost-prohibitive and would take too long. With Telx, access to these leading providers is only a cross-connect away and allows us to shop around to the more cost-effective carriers, enabling us to offer our customers more competitive rates.”
Vision Net offers Montana customers a full suite of communications services, including voice, video and data transport, competitive local access, private lines (T1, DS3 and OC-X), high-speed internet access, web storage and network equipment colocation. They rely on Telx’s Global Marketplace provider ecosystem in downtown Chicago to help process their Transport Services, which seamlessly connect to other regional and national carriers to transport traffic from points within Montana to metro and rural markets across the United States and Canada.
“Vision Net is a great example of how Telx is enabling the expansion of broadband connectivity to all markets, by working closely with service providers to allow them to expand their reach cost effectively and provide the high performance infrastructure platform and services required to win in the market,” said William Kolman, EVP of Sales for Telx.
