TeliaSonera International Carrier to power online TV services for YLE, Finland’s public broadcaster

Finnish public broadcaster, YLE, broadcasts an array of content across its four channels, including international sports events. Through TeliaSonera’s Award Winning MDS, viewers will now be able to log on and view content live as well as on-demand.

Jorma Laiho, YLE’s Director of Corporate Technology, says “YLE appreciates unforced and seamless cooperation. In regards to the availability of programme content, customers now set the same requirements for the Internet as they do for TV and radio. The availability and processes in providing this service are thus of vital importance.”

TeliaSonera International Carrier’s Media Distribution Service manages the storage and distribution of content from upload right through to TV or online broadcast. For live and on demand services, it ensures flexibility and cost-efficiency.
