CHARLOTTE, N.C. (September 13, 2010) – FairPoint Communications today named John Hogshire, a seasoned finance professional with extensive telecommunications experience, vice president and controller.
Hogshire has spent nearly 27 years working in finance, 23 of which have been with telecommunications companies. He most recently served as director of accounting for Aviat Networks (formerly Harris Stratex Networks) prior to which he was vice president and controller for Madison River Communications, a position he held for nearly nine years. Hogshire began his telecommunications career with Sprint, where he took on roles of increasing responsibility over a 10-year period.
“John’s extensive finance and telecommunications expertise will be instrumental in helping FairPoint to closely manage financial reporting and meet SOX, regulatory and tax compliance,” says Ajay Sabherwal, executive vice president and chief financial officer of FairPoint.
Hogshire holds a bachelor’s degree from North Carolina Wesleyan College with a concentration in accounting. He is a certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. He will be based in Charlotte, N.C.
