(NASDAQ:EQIX, news, filings), global supplier of data center services, today announced that Go Voyages, France’s number one travel agency for seat-only sales on both charter and regular flights, has selected Equinix to protect and connect its infrastructure, enabling the continuity of its on-line services. Go Voyages’ infrastructure is hosted at Equinix’s PA3 International Business Exchange (IBX®) data center near Paris, where the company can also access an ecosystem of major operators providing direct fibre interconnection to 30 regional and metropolitan telecommunications networks.
Go Voyages has offices in central Paris where customers can purchase tickets but specialises in the sale of on-line travel. With 98 percent of weekday orders and 100 percent of weekend orders placed online, the need to consistently guarantee the availability and optimized performance of the govoyages.com web site is paramount for customer retention in the face of stiff on-line competition from other agencies. Sharp growth in demand led Go Voyages to look to a data center service provider as its own premises could not accommodate its need for optimum security and scalability.
After researching the market, Go Voyages opted for Equinix’s PA3 IBX data center which met all its requirements in terms of collocation, security, redundancy and rich network choice.
