FPL FiberNet Adding 260‐Mile Fiber‐Optic Network Expansion in Florida

Leading Broadband Provider Continues Statewide Expansion

(MIAMI, FL) – September 13, 2010 – Wholesale providers and businesses in Southwest and Tallahassee Florida will soon have a new choice for high‐speed fiber‐optic telecommunication services..

FPL FiberNet, an award‐winning Miami‐based telecommunications provider, is continuing to expand its fiber‐optic network presence throughout Florida with the addition of a 260‐mile route that will pass through several cities, including Naples, Ft. Myers and Port Charlotte in Collier, Lee and Charlotte
counties. A separate build out will pass through Tallahassee Florida in Leon County.

The new route in Southwest Florida, which is currently under construction, will connect more than 100 cellular backhaul locations and 10 additional central offices to the existing FPL FiberNet network. In addition, the new route in Tallahassee Florida will connect an additional central office to the existing network. The central office in Tallahassee will also be FPL FiberNet’s Point of Presence (POP). With the additional connectivity, businesses located in Southwest and Tallahassee Florida as well as wholesale customers will have access to Dedicated Internet Access, Ethernet and SONET/TDM telecommunications services.

“Investing in and establishing a more robust network in Southwest and Tallahassee Florida will enable us to better serve our existing customers’ growing requirements for a diverse, reliable and cost‐effective broadband solution,” said Carmen Perez, President of FPL FiberNet. “In addition, we can now offer our services to new customers in the region who are hungry for high‐speed broadband to optimize vital communications applications that are critical to their businesses.”

By enhancing its footprint and adding both cell site and central office locations to its existing roster of network‐ready buildings, data centers and co‐location facilities, FPL FiberNet will give carriers the ability to expand their network connectivity and further grow their businesses.

According to Perez, the company’s carrier‐grade, highly‐reliable service is an ideal alternative for healthcare, professional and financial services firms, as well as educational and governmental entities that require a robust network for their mission‐critical applications.

FPL FiberNet, which has been in business since 2000, has built out its network considerably in the last year by adding hundreds locations and route miles in Florida. The company also has a premier data center and interconnection hub in Atlanta.

The company expects portions of the new network in Southwest and Tallahassee Florida to be available by January 2011 and December 2010, respectively although it is accepting pre‐orders for service now. For more information, call 1‐866‐STRANDS or visit www.FPLFiberNet.com.
