FAIRPOINT EXPANDS BROADBAND SERVICE TO 26 NEW HAMPSHIRE COMMUNITIES

MANCHESTER, NH (August 20, 2010) High-speed, broadband Internet access from FairPoint Communications has been expanded in 26 New Hampshire communities and is now available for the first time to approximately 1,130 homes and businesses in Grantham, Rumney and Warren, New Hampshire. FairPoint added these areas to VantagePoint(sm), its ever-expanding fiber-based, high-capacity network offering Internet services that provide businesses and residents with a better, faster way to communicate. Neighborhoods in an additional 23 communities have also been added to the VantagePoint network. High-speed Internet service is now available to additional locations in Concord, West Swanzey, Conway, Pelham and Wolfeboro, to name a few. The complete list can be found below.

More than $111 million has been invested by FairPoint in the communications infrastructure and technology to bring VantagePoint to northern New England. With speed options as fast as 15Mbps, the VantagePoint network provides customers with the ability to smoothly stream live video, play on-line games at lightning speeds and upload photos and large files with ease.

“The VantagePoint network allows broadband to be delivered to a growing number of neighborhoods and customers,” said Teresa Rhodes Rosenberger, New Hampshire state president for FairPoint. “Always-on broadband access provides almost instant connections to information, news and entertainment.”
