Sonus Networks and NewTelco Partner to Expand Sonus' Presence in Central and Eastern Europe and CIS Countries

SONUS NETWORKS AND NEWTELCO PARTNER TO EXPAND SONUS’ PRESENCE IN CENTRAL AND EASTERN EUROPE AND CIS COUNTRIES

Alliance to Cover Joint Sales, Marketing, as well as Support and Integration for the Entire Sonus Product Portfolio

WESTFORD, Mass. and FRANKFURT, Germany, July 14, 2010 – Sonus Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:SONS, news, filings), a leader in IP networking, and NewTelco, a leading infrastructure supplier in the EU region, announced an agreement today that will help increase the market penetration for Sonus products in Central and Eastern Europe as well as CIS countries (Commonwealth of Independent States). NewTelco has relationships with more than four hundred customers in the region and is a provider of comprehensive telecommunications solutions in the European market.

Under the terms of the agreement, NewTelco will act as a reseller of the complete Sonus product portfolio, including the GSX9000(TM) Open Services Switch, PSX(TM) Call Routing Server, SGX(TM) Signaling Gateway, the NBS9000(TM) Network Border Switch, as well as the recently announced NBS5200(TM) Network Border Switch on Sonus’ new ConnexIP platform. In addition, NewTelco will also produce systems integration as well as support services in the region.

“The combination of Sonus’ market leading VoIP and session management portfolio and our proven sales and service experience represents a tremendous opportunity as we expand our footprint throughout Europe and the CIS region,” said Ivan Soldo, Sales Director for NewTelco. Matthias Hartmann, CEO for NewTelco added: “This alliance represents a win-win situation for both companies, and we look forward to sharing in the market expansion with Sonus.”

Sonus has seen an increasing demand for its network transformation solutions as well as session border control solutions in regions across the world. Its unique hybrid solution allows customers to support TDM to IP and IP to IP sessions on the same platform, offering them a graceful and cost effective way to transform their networks to all IP core. Its next generation session border control solution, powered by the ConnexIP(TM) platform addresses limitations that first generation SBCs do not address.

“This relationship will result in market leading IP networking products and services being delivered to the EU and CIS regions,” said Jens Kalbitz, Head of Central / Eastern Europe & CIS for Sonus. “The local expertise and the trust NewTelco has built over the years with their customer base will help drive the deployment of Sonus solutions into new markets that we could not service alone with the same speed and efficiency.”
