Level 3 Signs Agreement with Gandi SAS for Multiple Services

Level 3’s Transport, High-Speed IP, and Colocation Services Will Support Gandi SAS’s Cloud Infrastructure Solutions

BROOMFIELD, CO, July 28, 2010

Level 3 Communications, Inc. (NYSE:LVLT, news, filings) today announced that it has signed an agreement with Gandi SAS, the largest domain name registrar in France and a provider of cloud infrastructure solutions, to provide a range of telecommunications services.

Under the terms of the three-year agreement, Gandi will leverage the Level 3 network for colocation, Ethernet private line (EPL), intercity and transatlantic wavelengths, as well as high-speed Internet protocol (HSIP) services. These new services will help to further expand Gandi’s market reach into the United States and support the company’s cloud infrastructure initiatives, such as virtual private servers (VPS).

“Gandi is dedicated to providing our customers with the tools they need to thrive in a connected world, and the expansion of our cloud services infrastructure is a logical next step to better meet the needs of our customers internationally – especially in the U.S. market, where we can now serve the needs of our customers with a local team and company,” said Leland Vandervort, director of Technical Operations at Gandi. “Level 3’s fiber-optic network offers us the efficient platform and scalable reach we need to better serve our growing cloud-services customer base.”

Headquartered in France, Gandi also has a regional U.S. office based in Baltimore. Gandi’s VPSs provide their customers with a cloud services infrastructure that enables them to host a range of cloud software platforms.

“Enabling our enterprise customers to expand their businesses through high-quality communications services is central to Level 3’s goal as a network innovator,” said Jeff Tench, president of Level 3’s Business Markets Group. “We are pleased to work with Gandi by providing service solutions that will help them meet their global connectivity needs.”

Level 3’s Business Markets Group leverages the power of the company’s extensive fiber-optic network, metro assets, and a locally-focused sales and sales support organization to deliver world-class services to enterprise customers and service providers throughout the United States.
