Jazztel Selects BroadSoft to Deliver Hosted PBX to Small Businesses in Spain

GAITHERSBURG, MD – July 1, 2010 – BroadSoft® announced today that Jazztel, P.L.C. (Spanish Stock Exchange: JAZ), a leading Spanish telecommunications operator, has selected and already implemented the BroadWorks® VoIP application platform to support its Hosted-PBX offering, Packs de Empresa. Launched in September 2009, Packs de Empresa is a bundled service for small businesses that includes up to eight voice lines, together with ADSL2+ Internet access and a set of BroadWorks value-added features, including call forwarding, three-way calling, group hunting and short dialling. Jazztel is reporting strong interest in this newly bundled service, with approximately 5,000 new small business customers having already subscribed for the service.

“Small businesses are focused on telecommunications investments that not only improve communications but that directly benefit their bottom line,” said Luis del Pozo, chief marketing officer at Jazztel. “With BroadWorks Hosted PBX, Jazztel provides small businesses the scalability, reliability and the value-added features of an enhanced communications solution without the need for capital equipment expenditures. We expected the integration between BroadWorks and our provisioning system to be a complex task, but it was painless and seamless. In addition to the cost savings associated with the smooth integration, we have been able to go to market and start generating revenue very quickly.”

BroadWorks is designed to both ease the transition to VoIP for small businesses and allow service providers like Jazztel to expand their voice services portfolio with advanced features. BroadWorks enables a comprehensive range of VoIP applications, including Hosted Unified Communications, Mobile Unified Communications, SIP Trunking, and residential broadband services, which are fully integrated into a single platform. Jazztel is expected to roll out a BroadWorks SIP Trunking capability for its subscribers over the next year, which will enable businesses to keep their existing on-site telephony equipment, while gaining the additional VoIP services.

“By deploying BroadWorks as its core IP communications platform, Jazztel is able to deliver cost effective, high-quality VoIP services to its small business subscribers and expand the value of its network by introducing new revenue-generating business services,” said Leslie Ferry, BroadSoft’s vice president of marketing. “In addition, the flexibility and openness inherent in BroadWorks ensures a seamless integration with Jazztel’s back-office system.”
