- No-cost, one-day seminar in Interxion’s AMS 5 Amsterdam data centre
- Practical focus on mapping out and testing medium-term energy efficiency strategies
- Brings all IT energy-efficiency standards organisations together for the first time
AMSTERDAM 5th July 2010 – Interxion, a leading European provider of carrier-neutral colocation data centre services, and Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, today announced that they will host an Energy Efficiency Roadmap seminar on 23 September 2010 at Interxion’s 100% renewable-powered AMS 5 data centre in Schiphol, Amsterdam.
The event is designed for directors, heads of department and managers from medium-to-large European IT users who are interested in optimising the financial and operational efficiency of their IT infrastructure – mapping out and testing their medium-term, energy-efficient IT strategies in the light of the latest metrics, recommendations and regulations from government and industry bodies.
The Energy Efficiency Roadmap is the first seminar to bring the leading global IT energy-efficiency standards organisations together under one roof. For the first time, The Uptime Institute, The Green Grid, and the EC Joint Research Centre will share a platform, painting a comprehensive picture of current and upcoming energy-efficiency standards, metrics, codes of conduct, incentives, and legislation. They will be joined by The Green-IT Amsterdam Consortium, a key player in the drive for emission reduction in the Amsterdam Region. Interxion, Schneider Electric and the 451 Group will also provide practical insights and advice in data centre design and operation, R&D, and component design and selection, and tell participants what the data centre sector as a whole is really doing to tackle the challenges of energy-efficient IT.
“As a carrier-neutral colocation provider, Interxion brings together many of the world’s leading IT providers and users, and we have built up great expertise in energy-efficient design and operations over the years,” said Kevin Dean, Interxion CMO. “With the help of APC by Schneider Electric, we are leveraging this unique position to create a unique and accessible event for the industry, bringing together all the key influencers and regulators of energy efficiency for the first time.”
