FRONTIER COMMUNICATIONS DONATES $10,000 TO READ ALOUD WEST VIRGINIA IN APPRECIATION OF NGT&S'S "SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY"
Frontier Communications Corporation (NYSE:FTR, news, filings) today presented Read Aloud West Virginia with a check for $10,000 on behalf of NiSource Gas Transmission & Storage (NGT&S). The donation reflects the company's appreciation of NGT&S's giving Frontier's transition teams use of premium facilities at 1700 Maccorkle Avenue in Charleston, directly across from offices acquired by Frontier on July 1st as part of is 14-state transaction with Verizon Communications.
"The NGT&S facilities were an ideal `command center' for Frontier's transition team, allowing us to be accessible and available to Verizon employees and leadership pre-close without interrupting the customer experience in any way," said Ken Arndt, President and General Manager of Frontier's Southeast Region, whose headquarters are now in the former Verizon building at 1500 Maccorkle. "It was incredibly gracious of NGT&S to offer the facilities and to suggest a donation to Read Aloud West Virginia in lieu of compensation. It is a wonderful welcome to Charleston and proof positive that Southern hospitality is alive and well. We are thrilled to be a part of this wonderful community."
Brian Healy, manager of non-gas facilities for NGT&S, stated that the offer of facilities and the donation to Read Aloud West Virginia were consistent with the company's Values. "NGT&S is deeply committed to the strength and stability of the communities we serve. Frontier shares our interest in engaging with our communities and partnering with them to ensure a bright future. Reading programs do that and benefit all ages in many ways. It is a pleasure to welcome Frontier to our community, to have provided space as they begin to do very good things for West Virginia, and to recognize Read Aloud West Virginia. It's a good day all around."
In accepting the donation, Mary Kay Bond, Executive Director of Read Aloud West Virginia stated, "It is a pleasure when companies collaborate and focus on what is best for their customers and communities.
