Lightyear Network Solutions Appoints Former Sales Leader at Nextel Partners Kevin B. Parker as VP of Sales

— Veteran Sales Manager and Human Resource Executive to Strengthen Lightyear’s Corporate Growth Initiatives —

LOUISVILLE, KY, June 8, 2010 – Lightyear Network Solutions, Inc. (OTCBB:LYNS, news, filings), a provider of telecommunication services to large, medium and small businesses, as well as residential consumers throughout North America, today announced the appointment of veteran industry sales manager Kevin B. Parker, as its new Vice President of Sales.

Mr. Parker, age 46, has over 15 years of sales experience in the telecom industry, working in various leadership and sales management roles at carriers including CellularOne, GTE Wireless, and Nextel Partners. Over the years, Mr. Parker has become a highly proactive leader with a strong track record of managing organization-wide telecom sales channels, whether direct, indirect, local or on a national consumer level.

Since 2008, Mr. Parker has served as a leadership consultant at Resources – Global Professionals, which was founded as a division of Deloitte and Touche LLP, later being spun-off into a consultancy firm providing a variety of professional services. From 1999 to 2007 Mr. Parker was at Nextel Partners, working his way up from the title of Indirect Distribution Manager, where he led national sales records and repeatedly received President’s Council recognition, to Director of Training and Development, where he was responsible for every aspect of training and development for more than 2,900 employees. Previously, Mr. Parker was Regional Manager at CellularOne where he attained the number one sales designation. From 1994 to 1998 he was with GTE Wireless, where he opened multiple point-of-sale locations and reached approximately 140% of sales targets. Mr. Parker graduated on the Dean’s List with a B.S. in Human Resource Management from Florida State University.
