Level 3 Offers Enhanced End-to-End Service Level Agreements

Improved Service Level Agreements Provide Customers with Comprehensive Performance Guarantee

BROOMFIELD, Colo., June 17, 2010

Level 3 Communications, Inc. (NYSE:LVLT, news, filings) today announced that the company is now offering its enterprise customers enhanced end-to-end service level agreements (SLAs) that simplify the contract process and provide a more complete performance guarantee.

With various fiber-optic network segments often operated by multiple carriers, customers are typically required to have multiple single product SLAs that provide no guarantee for overall service performance. Level 3’s enhanced SLAs, however, now offer enterprise customers comprehensive assurance on the performance of products and services.

“With telecommunications companies increasingly consolidating services, it is even more important to focus on customer satisfaction in order to offer a competitive advantage,” said Roopashree Honnachari, senior industry analyst for Frost & Sullivan. “Level 3’s new comprehensive agreement structure highlights their awareness of this industry trend and competitive differentiator.”

“We have seen strong customer demand for simpler end-to-end service level agreements, and this new initiative enables us to provide a complete solution to meet this demand,” said Jeff Tench, president of Business Markets for Level 3. “We are committed to offering a premium standard of service, and these new end-to-end agreements illustrate the confidence we have in keeping our customers’ crucial communication services running reliably.”

With approximately 54,000 long-haul fiber route miles and 27,000 metro fiber miles spanning 190 markets in 22 countries, Level 3 offers a comprehensive portfolio of telecommunications services, including voice over internet protocol (VoIP), transport, data, collocation, and content delivery.
