Level 3 Lands SeLoger.com Online Real Estate Sites

French Company Selects Level 3 for High-Speed IP Services

LONDON, Jun 18, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) — Level 3 Communications, Inc. (NYSE:LVLT, news, filings) today announced it will now provide high-speed IP (HSIP) services for leading Paris-based online real estate service SeLoger.com Group, including all four of the company’s websites.

Since 1992, SeLoger has connected French real estate agents and sellers with prospective buyers. Today, the company operates France’s most extensive website for classified real estate ads and has diversified its business to include a number of related sister sites that provide services for new and prospective buyers, including immostreet.com, bellesdemeures.com and agorabiz.com.

Level 3 will support all of these sites with HSIP services via two gigabit-per-second ports. These services will be delivered via the Equinix data center and Level 3’s new point-of-presence (PoP) in Iliad Entreprises’ Vitry colocation facility.

“Our business has grown tremendously over the past few years, and with it our bandwidth demand has increased,” said Jean-Michel Berthelier, IT Department Director SeLoger.com. “With their extensive international footprint and high level of network scalability, Level 3 was the ideal provider to support our current bandwidth demands as well as our plans for expansion into new markets.”

As a Tier 1 Internet provider, Level 3’s HSIP services are designed to meet the demand of the Internet’s largest bandwidth consumers. The Level 3 backbone across Europe and North America supports a high percentage of on-net traffic, meaning when traffic originates on the Level 3 network, it makes fewer “hops” before arriving at most Internet destinations. The network also supports an extensive customer peering network to allow customer Internet traffic to efficiently travel to virtually any destination across the Internet.

“For SeLoger.com, whose business is driven primarily by its Internet presence, network performance becomes that much more critical to a positive customer experience and the success of the business overall,” said James Heard, president of European Markets. “Level 3 offers an attractive value proposition for European businesses like this since we offer Tier 1 international connectivity, low on-net latency and a highly fault-tolerant network, combined with a local presence at the Iliad collocation facility.”
