Interoute’s Amsterdam, Berlin and Geneva Data Centres achieve highest security standard for online credit card transaction protection
London, UK – 29th June 2010, Interoute, owner operator of Europe’s largest advanced next-generation network, today announced that it has achieved Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) certification for its Amsterdam, Berlin and Geneva data centres. PCI DSS is a security standard for online credit card transaction set out by the PCI Security Standard Council, founded by leading credit card organisations including American Express, MasterCard Worldwide, and Visa. Interoute has attained compliance through an independent Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) to ensure the security of its managed hosting solutions.
With the theft and reselling of credit and debit card details on the rise, the protection of card holder data is more important than ever. The PCI DSS standards ensure the best security controls are in place to protect credit card data and personal information from online fraud and theft. For any organisation entrusting its precious e-commerce credit card data to a managed hosting supplier, it is essential that they seek PCI DSS assurances of protection controls against theft.
